FAQ

Q: When is the official hall check-in day?

A: The offical hall check-in day is on 8 Aug (Sat). We will provide transport back to hall for your check-in and collection of room keys. Your group leaders (GLs) will be helping you facilitate the check-in, so no worries!

Q: Will I be spending my nights in my hall room?

A: Due to ongoing renovations, your hall room will not be ready yet for camp accomodation. However, your camp accomodation has been taken care of.

Q: Should I still come for camp if I am feeling unwell or is showing flu symptoms?

A: In view of the current H1N1 outbreak, please do not come for camp if you are not feeling well. This is in consideration of the health and safety of the other freshmen attending the camp :)

Q: Any DOs and DON’Ts?

DOs:

Always inform your GLs of your whereabouts.

Follow your GLs and try not to stray from the group.

Inform your GLs if you are not feeling well.

Let your GLs know if you don’t feel comfortable playing some games.

Take care and drink lots of water.

Listen to the programmers during the games briefing.

Be safe.

Enjoy the camp! =)

DON’Ts:

Don’t wander off alone.

Don’t leisure swim during pool games/beach games.

Don’t come if you are feeling unwell. (SORRY!)

Q:What do I need to bring?

A: Don’t fret. Here’s your Freshmen-Friendly Packing List!

Pls take note of the swimwear! (NTU doesnt allow for t-shirts in the pool, so pls do bring proper swimwear for the games! especially for the girls! bikinis and board shorts and be used for our beach games!)

Q: Can i be excused from the games ?

A: If you find the games offending, or that you are just not comfortable with it (especially medical or any other reasons), pls do not hesitate to let ur GLs know, so that we can excuse you from the games. We try to accommodate everyone for our games, but we do understand that there are differences among individuals and some of us are just not that comfortable. =)

Q: How will my valuables be looked after?

First of all, pls do not bring excessive valuables to the camp. Secondly, during the games, you can pass them to your friendly GLs and they would take care of them for you. As we would be staying in external accommodations (not in hall), pls be extra careful with them!

hi zhen long!
For saturday, you would be handed over the keys to the room, and filling up some forms as the official check-in. You can start shifting in once you have the keys!

As for when you want to settle down, you can do so after saturday or over the long national days weekend. yup =)

Hi, we understand that most freshmen have welcome day to attend, so we do allow you all to attend. However, we urge all freshmen to try to stay for the camp…. most welcome day are just talks, tours and stuff…. boring compared to our programme? haha yup PLS do let your gl know if you are leaving during the camp.. thanks!

Hey seniors, just for clarification purposes.. have some questions buzzing my mind ever since i know this website. It’s regarding the packing list. hehe… It was mentioned that clothes we need to pack for 6 days, but clothes include t-shirts and shorts? Another question, erm the pair of covered shoes, is it canvas shoes, sports shoes or pumps(for ladies)? and one last question (soooo sorry), can give some examples of beachwear? Thanks alot and very sorry for the many questions asked…

Hey, sorry for the confusion!
For clothes, do pack both tops and bottoms. We do provide some tees along the way as well. Do also rmb to have at least one dark coloured top, and one set of clothes that can be dirtied.

For covered shoes, we are looking at shoes that are comfortable for running. we would be having games that involved running around campus, so try to take care of your feet.

Beach wears are like bikini (if u r comfortable with that), sports bra, board shorts and etc… there would be singlets provided for the beach games as well.

hope that answered most of your queries? do feel free to ask!

Question

Hey seniors,

May I know what you mean by smart casual wear? Can you give some examples thanks..

nemesis2009

Hi, the smart casual wear would be for the SP night where freshmen would meet their Secret Partner. The venue would be a beach bar, so anything presentable would do like berms/jeans with shirts/tshirts, simple dresses, etc…. just not the usual fbt shorts etc.
